About Dental Inlays And Onlays
How Bloomfield Inlays and Onlays Are Done
We often refer to Inlays and Onlays as partial crowns. They are done by using the existing tooth as a base, then fitting the inlay or Onlay onto it. This is because they are used for strengthening teeth, restoring their shape, and preventing further damage. An inlay is usually placed when there’s no damage to any of the cusps of your tooth – an inlay can be put right over them outfitted with porcelain or composite resin material made from gold or other materials depending on what you prefer!
If there’s more extensive decay within areas of your tooth – an area which has been identified-then this will require two phases: firstly removing all decayed parts before taking an impression molding that will go into a dental lab where they create a restoration made up from porcelain gold composite resin etc., though this process takes about 2-3 weeks so during that time you’ll have something temporary fitted until after being cemented back into place at our next appointment when everything looks natural again without anyone able to tell if anything was ever wrong!
